It is claimed that reasoning in the real world aids decision making and is geared towards accomplishing goals. There is a distinction made between two types of rationality.

- Rationality 1: Reasoning to attain one's goals under cognitive limits
- Rationality 2: Reasoning through a logical process
This example I'm about to explain has been included in my article too. One day I was playing cricket with my friends in an abandoned paddy field when I was in sixth grade and I was looking for two stones to mark the wide lines. Once I picked up a stone, I saw the grass under it were dead, they turned into a pale yellow color. I didn’t know the reason behind it and I was curious to find out. The next day, I picked up a stone and went to the front yard of my house and covered a little area of it by the stone and left it for 24 hours. The next day I went to check on the grass and the result was just like the grass I saw in the paddy field. I was thinking about it for hours and finally able to make a logic that the grass that was open facing the sunlight was healthy compared to the grass under the rock and I deducted that the grass turned into pale yellow because of the lack of sunlight. At that time I didn’t know I used reasoning to come into a conclusion about my curiosity but reasoning was the technique that helped me to understand a natural phenomenon.
